By February 12, 2016

UPS will ship about 100 million flowers (8-9 million dozen), that is equivalent to 70 cargo aircraft. The National Retail Federation reports, consumers are expected to spend $147 on Valentine’s gifts, and $41 to buy flowers, on average. Total spend will hit about $20 billion on Valentine’s Day presents.

Due to heavy shipping volume the day before Valentine’s Day, UPS is making an operational adjustment for Saturday, February 13. They will be extending the delivery commitment time by 90 minutes for UPS Next Day Air and UPS Next Day Air Early service options.

• Areas with a standard Saturday commit time of 12:00 p.m., deliveries will be made by 1:30 p.m.
• Areas with a standard Saturday commit time of 1:30 p.m., deliveries will be made by 3:00 p.m.
• UPS Next Day Air® Early commitment times extended by 90 minutes. Delivery commitment times vary by destination ZIP
