FEDEX REFUNDSUPS REFUNDS

Why choose Refund Retriever?

By Last updated on: July 25, 2023

Why would you choose Refund Retriever over one of the many other FedEx & UPS small parcel auditing companies? It looks like everyone does the same thing. Wrong.

Proprietary Software

Refund Retriever was started in 2006 with software we developed in-house. We do not have any outside third-party companies writing our code. All FedEx and UPS invoices are brought in automatically as soon as they are available and processed. Your business data is never outsourced to another company. At Refund Retriever, we take confidentiality very seriously.

In-house Data Processing

There is a 15-day time limit on getting GSR (guaranteed service refunds) submitted to UPS and FedEx. If any carrier data is changed, the file format altered, or any other situation that requires action to process your refunds, our clients can rest assured knowing that we are investigating and making all necessary changes immediately to meet deadlines. Dealing only with proprietary code allows Refund Retriever to address changes and get refunds processed quickly without involving outside companies.

Core competency is parcel auditing

As a client of Refund Retriever, you will have the peace of mind knowing we are doing what we do best. We don’t spend our resources on a heavy-handed sales force, which allows us to invest heavily in infrastructure and efficiencies. We always seek to improve and find more ways to save you money. Refund Retriever will never attempt to act as a third-party negotiator or representative.

No third parties accessing your data

We do not sell your data to any third party. We have a wealth of information on shipping habits and trends, and though we’ve been approached to sell this information, we always decline.

Why choose Refund Retriever? Reporting

Unparalleled reporting

Our reporting is first-rate. Do you want to know the cost per pound shipped, a list of accessorial charges, and a list of DIM (dimensional weight) packages? Are you getting a comparable discount with UPS or FedEx? How can you manage what you can’t measure? As a Refund Retriever client, this information is at your fingertips. You can query your data by individual accounts, FedEx or UPS specifically, and by date ranges.

Confirmation of refunds

Refund Retriever will not send you an invoice for a refund until we can confirm that FedEx or UPS has issued you a refund. You will see refunds noted differently depending on the specific carrier. For example, UPS will give a credit on a future invoice in the Guaranteed Service Refund category or adjustments. So the previous week’s refunds will reduce the amount of the UPS invoice due that next week. Save $100 this week, and next week’s $1000 UPS invoice will only show an amount due for $900.

Refund Retriever FedEx Late Package GSR credits on invoice

FedEx will give credit toward the invoice where the tracking number was initially billed. If that invoice is outstanding, the total amount due will be reduced. If you already made a payment, a check will be mailed or credit applied directly to the card on file. We check your FedEx invoice history for the refund credit multiple times to ensure the credit has not been reversed.

To be clear, the money for any refunds goes directly back to you, the shipper. You will only receive an invoice from us after we have confirmed your refunds have been issued.

Refund request follow-ups

There are many times that UPS and FedEx will electronically give us an approved refund, yet we never see the credit on your invoice. Refund Retriever will follow up with the carrier to ensure you get that refund. We will follow up if we cannot find that credit on that invoice or any future invoices. This is not uncommon; UPS and FedEx make mistakes. It happens, and we are here to fix them.

About us

Refund Retriever began operations in 2006 in the great state of Texas. We have integration and partnerships with many industry leaders, including Big Commerce, Shipworks, SkuVault, U-pic Insurance, 3d Cart, Magento, and Shopify. We believe these partnerships are a testament to our business practices and services. We proudly stand with these industry leaders.

We attend many trade shows and conferences. We do not have a huge sales force; instead, we have invested heavily in our internal infrastructure, and we can handle any size account. If you have a question or want to contact us, you will speak directly with the company’s owner – Brian Gibbs.

The bulk of Refund Retriever’s talent is in programmers. We do auditing, and we do it very well. Our very first client is still a happy Refund Retriever customer.

No long-term contracts

There are no long-term contracts when you become a Refund Retriever client. There is no 60-day cancellation period. If you decide to take your business elsewhere, you only need to call or email us, and we stop auditing. Or, you can change your ID. It’s that easy.

Contingency pricing

Refund Retriever only charges you for our success. We do not charge you if we audit your invoices and find no late packages or fix no billing mistakes. No monthly, setup, or cancellation fees. At the end of the month, we send an invoice with all the refunds we obtained. The Refund Retriever invoice details the reason for the refunds, the refund amount, and where to find it on your UPS or FedEx invoice. Our fee is a percentage of these savings, that’s all. No hidden costs.

We use your FedEx and UPS Online Billing

The benefit of using the ID you provide is that you control our access. If you are unsatisfied with Refund Retriever and no longer wish to use our services, just change that password. We cannot access your invoices, dispute packages, or confirm refunds without your login information. However, a bonus of providing us with your login information is that it allows us to view the same online billing information to review invoices with you. Our refunds are truly transparent; we show the status of your refund at any time.

Why choose Refund Retriever? The Bottom Line

In the end, it’s all about the bottom line. We certainly want carriers to be compensated for their services, but we don’t want you to be charged for their mistakes. We understand that shipping is a critical component of your business; however, at Refund Retriever, we also understand that shipping is just ONE component. Let us handle your parcel recovery and management issues so that you can get back to running your business.

Getting started is easy. There is no set-up fee. No cancellation fee. And there is no charge if we don’t find any refunds. Are you looking for reimbursements on your Amazon FBA account? We can help!
